Braces in Frisco, TX

Two Locations Across Frisco. Board-Certified Care. Free Consultation.

By Dr. Kevin Baharvand DMD MS. Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics. Cover clinician, American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Co-founder, Elate Orthodontics.

If you are looking for braces in Frisco, TX, the most important decision you will make is not which type of braces to choose. It is which orthodontist you trust with your child’s treatment. Braces work when the clinical decisions behind them are sound. That requires a board-certified specialist who sees your case personally, from the first appointment to the day the braces come off.

At Elate Orthodontics, Dr. Julia Kang and I treat every braces patient personally across our two Frisco locations. Here is what you need to know about your options, what treatment looks like at Elate, and how to get started.

Types of Braces We Offer in Frisco

Option 1

Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces remain the most versatile and reliable orthodontic tool available. They work for every case complexity, from simple crowding to complex bite corrections, and they give us the most precise control over tooth movement. For growing kids and teens especially, metal braces are often the most efficient path to a finished result.

✔️ Works for all case types including complex bites

✔️ Most cost-effective braces option

✔️ Customizable with colored bands using our Braces Color Wheel

✔️ Tried and proven over decades of clinical research

Option 2

Clear Ceramic Braces

Clear ceramic braces use tooth-colored brackets that blend with your natural enamel. They work exactly like traditional metal braces mechanically, but they are significantly less visible. Most teens and adults who want the reliability of braces without the obvious metal look choose this option. They require slightly more care to keep clean but deliver the same clinical results.

✔️ Tooth-colored brackets blend with your smile

✔️ Same clinical precision as metal braces

✔️ Popular with teens and working adults

Braces vs. Clear Aligners

Some patients are better suited to clear aligners like Invisalign or Angel Aligners rather than braces. The right choice depends on your case complexity, compliance, and lifestyle. At your free consultation, Dr. Baharvand or Dr. Kang will review your records and give you an honest recommendation, not a sales pitch for whichever option costs more.

Braces for Kids, Teens, and Adults in Frisco

Kids

Early Treatment and Phase 1 Orthodontics

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this age we can identify developing bite problems, crowding, and jaw growth concerns while there is still time to guide healthy development. Not every child needs early treatment, but early evaluation is always worthwhile. When Phase 1 treatment is recommended, we explain exactly why, what it accomplishes, and what Phase 2 will look like afterward.

Teens

Braces for Teenagers in Frisco

Teen treatment at Elate is one of our most active areas of practice. We work with families from Tribute, Phillips Creek Ranch, Hollyhock, and Windsong Ranch whose kids are starting braces during middle and high school. Teens do well with both traditional and clear ceramic braces, and many also choose clear aligners. The right option depends on the case and the teen. We are honest about compliance requirements for aligners, and we do not recommend them for patients who are unlikely to wear them consistently.

Adults

Adult Braces in Frisco

A significant portion of our braces patients are adults who delayed treatment or whose bite has shifted over time. Adults do well in braces and often finish faster than they expect because they are reliable about keeping appointments and following care instructions. Clear ceramic braces are the most popular option for working professionals who want results without the obvious metal look. We treat adults from their 20s through their 50s and beyond at both Frisco locations.

Why Choose Elate Orthodontics for Braces in Frisco

Most orthodontic offices in Frisco are owned by private equity groups or dental service organizations. The doctors rotate. The business model runs on volume. When something is not tracking correctly in your child’s treatment, there may be no one with real ownership of the outcome watching for it.

Elate is different in ways that directly affect your child’s result:

✔️ Board-certified orthodontist with renewed Diplomate status 2026. Fewer than 30% of orthodontists hold this credential.

✔️ Cover clinician, American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

✔️ Same doctor at every appointment, from consultation to debond

✔️ iTero digital scanning, no goopy impressions

✔️ Two Frisco locations so you can choose based on your commute or school schedule

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Step 1

Free Consultation

You meet with Dr. Baharvand or Dr. Kang directly. Not a coordinator. We take photos, review your bite, and give you a specific treatment recommendation with a timeline and cost before you leave.

Step 2

Digital Records

We use iTero digital scanning, no goopy impressions. Records take about 20 minutes and give us a precise 3D model of your teeth and bite to plan treatment from.

Step 3

Braces Placement

Bracket placement takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Most patients experience mild soreness for two to three days afterward as teeth begin adjusting. This is normal and temporary.

Step 4

Regular Adjustments

Adjustment appointments happen every six to ten weeks. At each visit Dr. Baharvand or Dr. Kang reviews your progress and makes any changes needed to keep treatment on track. Elate patients consistently finish ahead of their original estimated timeline.

Step 5

Debond and Retainers

When your teeth have reached their final position, braces come off and retainers go in. Retainers are what maintain your result for life. We fit you with custom retainers the same day braces are removed and include retainer guidance in your treatment plan from the start. Learn more about our Retainer Assurance Program.
