Dr. Kevin Baharvand, or better known as Dr. B, loves making people happy.
A Man of Hard Work
Dr. B graduated at the top of his class from Boston University, one of the world’s most renowned dental schools. Upon graduation he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society — awarded only to dentists with uncompromised academic achievement. Shortly after, he received the prestigious American Association of Periodontics Award.
Boston was where he met his sweetheart, Dr. Julia Kang. They graduated from the same dental school, scored the same on their examinations, and sometimes even finished each other’s sentences.
“I loved being a dentist but orthodontics was something I was obsessed with,” said Dr. B. After practicing general dentistry in Massachusetts, he began his orthodontic residency at Jacksonville University — attending night classes concurrently to pursue a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Upon graduation, Dr. B was among fewer than 5 orthodontic residents in the entire United States to earn a Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics alongside 2 master’s degrees simultaneously. He was further inducted into 3 additional honor societies: Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Beta Gamma Sigma — bringing his total honor society memberships to four.
Dr. B is proud to be among the 40% of orthodontists who are board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. In 2018, at the Annual Session of the American Association of Orthodontists in Washington D.C., Dr. B’s treated patient was displayed before orthodontists from around the world. “I’d like to do my best, leaving no regrets behind” is the motto Dr. B draws his energy from.
Peer-Reviewed Orthodontist and National Speaker
Dr. B has been featured in multiple peer-reviewed and industry publications including the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, Orthotown, Dentaltown, and Wave Magazine. He serves on the Editorial Board of Orthotown Magazine — one of the most widely read orthodontic trade publications in the country. His interview on the Dentistry Uncensored Podcast has been viewed in over 50 countries worldwide.
Dr. B is a national speaker on clear aligners and practice management, regularly invited to lecture fellow orthodontists across the country on efficient aligner systems and the integration of virtual care into modern orthodontic practice.
One of Dr. B’s patients, Sasha, was featured on the cover of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics — the highest credited orthodontic journal in the world. “Sasha’s smile is a movie I’d like to watch over and over again. I am very glad to see her happy.”
Children’s Book Author
Dr. B is also the published author of Daddy on Duty: Soccer Game, available on Barnes & Noble. The book follows little Luca the Dinocorn, a four-year-old soccer enthusiast, on his very first soccer game — with the unwavering support of his dad Kevin, a former soccer star. Through the highs and lows of the match against the fierce Dragons, Luca and Kevin discover the true meaning of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of bonding on and off the field. A heartwarming tale of family, sportsmanship, and the enduring love between a father and his child — a touching and inspiring read for children and parents alike.

Community Supporter
Since the founding of Elate Orthodontics, Dr. B has been an active member of Frisco and The Colony Chambers of Commerce, supporting local businesses and the community. Elate Orthodontics has sponsored 100% of local schools in as many ways as possible. “I hope the community would see us as their #1 supporter,” said Dr. B.
A Father and a Husband Above All
When not an orthodontist, Dr. B is a Baba — which basically means crawling on his knees giving rides, playing with Hot Wheels, and reading Pout-Pout Fish for the zillionth time. He loves grilling and growing his own vegetables and fruits.
“Becoming a father has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. It has taught me to listen, be patient, and love unconditionally. Moreover, I feel I am a better orthodontist because of it. I treat my patients with compassion as if they were my own family members. Thank you for choosing Elate Orthodontics — and I welcome you to the Elate Family.”
