Take 5 minutes to skim both treatment pages before your visit. You will walk in with a head start and we can spend more of your hour on the option that actually fits your life. Most adults and teens at Elate are candidates for both, so the decision usually comes down to lifestyle, not clinical limitations.
Traditional Braces
Fixed to your teeth. Working 24/7 for you.
- Office visits. Every 6 weeks for adjustments.
- Compliance. Always on, you cannot take them off.
- Diet attention. No popcorn, no hard candy, no sticky foods. Your braces stay on, your food list shrinks.
- Best for. Patients who want a set-it-and-forget-it option and do not mind the food restrictions.
Clear Aligners
Removable. Discreet. Working only when you wear them.
- Office visits. Every 2 to 3 months. Many of those can be virtual.
- Compliance. Must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day, every day, for the full duration of treatment.
- Diet attention. Eat anything. Take them out, eat, brush, pop them back in.
- Best for. Patients ready to commit to consistent wear in exchange for flexibility and discretion.
It used to be "am I a candidate?"
Clear aligner technology has come a long way. At Elate, we routinely treat very complex cases with clear aligners that older systems could not handle. From a clinical perspective, most of our patients are candidates for either treatment.
So the real question we ask in 2026 is not can we treat you with aligners. It is whether you are ready to wear them 20 to 22 hours a day for the full duration of your treatment. If yes, clear aligners are a fantastic choice. If you are not sure you will wear them consistently, braces will outperform aligners every time.
Financially, we price them very closely. So choose based on what fits your lifestyle, not what you think you can afford. We will walk through both options at your consultation and help you decide.

If you are visiting a few practices, save us for the end. That way you can take advantage of our same-day-start promotion the visit you decide. Most families who do this end up choosing Elate, and they get the best pricing by booking us last.
Three or more consults usually backfires.
Every orthodontist has their own clinical philosophy and their own way of explaining things. Families who get four or five consults often walk away more confused than when they started. If you have already had two opinions and they were similar, that is your answer.
Send us your records.
If you have records from another orthodontist and you are mostly comparing prices or want one more clinical opinion, you do not need a full consultation slot. Send us your records, photos, X-rays, and treatment plan, and Dr. B or Dr. Kang will review them and respond directly.

We invest real prep time before you arrive. We review your intake, prepare your room, ready your records, and build a treatment plan tailored to you. All before you walk through the door.
If you need to reschedule, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice. That gives us time to offer your slot to another family who needs it.
Late cancellations and no-shows require a $50 non-refundable rebooking fee. We appreciate you valuing our team's time the way we value yours.
